There are millions of people that are active users of Chime, and even a larger number of active users can be found on PayPal. However, there’s one thing that might interest you – can I send money from Chime to PayPal?
Can I send money from Chime to PayPal? There is no option to do this, not from Chime to the PayPal account directly, nor the other way around. However, you can go around this by sending from your Chime directly into the PayPal debit card. You can also transfer funds to a linked bank account and then forward those funds to PayPal.
It’s not possible to transfer money directly from your mobile servicer, Chime, into a PayPal account, but achieving this will require some effort and legwork on your part. However, I can also look at the best possible solution for you.
Can I Send Money From Chime to PayPal?
There are many people in the world who have taken the opportunity to grasp the convenience of online payments in their hands. The number of users on online payment platforms Chime and PayPal is in millions. There are probably numerous occasions where active users were in need of crossing over these two online payment services. But what about transfers between the two platforms, are they possible?
Unfortunately, if you want to transfer funds directly from Chime to PayPal or send them from PayPal to Chime, it’s not possible. The best available option is to use your Chime to send an amount of money to a PayPal debit card or send funds through a linked bank account and then forward it to PayPal. These are not simple options but are currently the most optimal choices that require the smallest amount of effort.
The First Option – Send From One User to Another on Chime
Perhaps the easiest solution to this problem is to convince the recipient to open a Chime account instead. Chime offers a bonus – if the recipient opens an account through a referral link provided by someone they know, they qualify for a direct deposit of $200 within the first 45 days. If they meet all the requirements for the bonus, they will receive it within the next two business days.
From there on, the process gets simple. Since both parties (you as a sender and your recipient) are on Chime, the transfer will be instantaneous, and there will be no wait time involved. However, to send it to another Chime user, you should take a few steps.
Send Money From Your Chime to Another User
Use your Chime mobile app as the most practical approach to transferring money. Once you’ve set up your account, you were provided with a $ChimeSign. You will also need the $ChimeSign of the recipient to be able to send them funds. Here are the steps you should take:
- Locate the other user using their $ChimeSign. You can also search for them by their phone number or email.
- Next, you should enter the amount you would like to send.
- Also, enter the reason for the transfer.
- Tap on the “Confirm” button after you have entered these two values.
- In order to send, tap on “Pay Now.”
The option where you can send from Chime to Chime is found under the “Friends” tab.
Send Money to a PayPal or Other Debit Card
Chime launched its free Pay Anyone function, which makes sending money much simpler without requiring the recipient to open a Chime account. All the other user needs to have is a debit card to be able to receive money sent to them instantaneously. You see, every time you add money to Chime and then use Pay Anyone, a link to Chime’s website will be given to the recipient. They can type their card number there to instantly receive money into their account.
If the person you are sending money to already has a debit card, or if you are transferring money to yourself, this is a free method and a quick way of doing so. The money can then be transferred to a PayPal account using a debit card, or they can receive funds directly into a PayPal card. If you have accounts on both platforms, you can use this convenience to load your PayPal card.
The Sender Could Open a PayPal Account
If you already have an account on the PayPal platform, you can easily use it to transfer funds, and there will be no fees included. Only fees that may apply are present when there is a currency conversion. If you don’t have a PayPal account, the only way to fund it is with your bank account or a debit card.
Send Funds to the Bank Account and Transfer Them to PayPal
You can use a linked common bank account to transfer funds to your personal PayPal account if you need to. In order to do so, link the very same debit card or bank account to both PayPal and Chime to get started, then make a deposit into the account. The money can then be transferred and added to the PayPal balance.
As long as you don’t exchange dollars for a different currency when sending to PayPal, the procedure should be free. If you require exchanging currencies, PayPal will impose huge fees. Thus, I don’t really advise it. There are a lot better options available.
Having Accounts on Both Platforms Is the Best Option
There are a few reasons why having accounts with both Chime and PayPal is the best option. First, it gives you more flexibility when it comes to how you want to receive your money. Chime offers direct deposit, which means you can get your paycheck deposited right into your account. PayPal, on the other hand, offers a debit card that you can use to make purchases or withdraw cash.
Second, having accounts with both Chime and PayPal gives you the ability to avoid figuring out how to transfer money between the two platforms. If you need to pay someone back for something, you can simply transfer the money from your Chime account to their account on the same platform, and the same goes for your PayPal.
